idea

The idea was to take unused telephone booths located throughout Shanghai and convert them into adoption booths for strays. The main concept is to advocate and encourage people to adopt strays instead of buying new dogs and/or abandoning their pets.

my role

I found out that a massive amount of stray dogs die on the streets of China every winter. To solve the problem, I created the concept and idea for this project.

USER JOURNEY

Knowing that strays need
to keep warm in winter,
we install solar panels to
generate heat in the booths
to attract them.

When a stray is in the booth, pressure sensors will detect
its weight and trigger food
to be released from a
dispenser and a camera will
capture images of it.

Using location-based messaging(LBS), the image
of the stray will then
be broadcast to mobile
phones within 500 meters
of the adoption booth.

04

The image received on mobile phones will inform potential adoptees of the stray in the booth for adoption.

Result

After two weeks, the telephone home managed to attract 24 dogs and found them homes.
The project won the shortlist of the Media lion category in Cannes Lions 2014.
